The app, allows individuals and businesses to log their expenses, keep on top of important dates in the annual tax calendar — and in light of recent changes to the VAT system — to accurately log business mileage.

The free app uses the smartphone inbuilt GPS system to allow users to generate a report at the end of each month that can be sent directly on to accountants for filing end of month or year-end reports.

Martin Hudson, director of Morgan Hemp, said: “There have been a number of large scale changes to the way that VAT is now calculated on business mileage. Our free app takes the four new rules into consideration and will enable users to accurately account for, and ultimately reclaim, their mileage and VAT.

“People are busier than ever before, so we felt that an app which helped people to keep track of their mileage and expenses while on the go and in a format that would be easily accessed by accountants was a very worthwhile tool to have. As well as keeping track of usages, users can also keep on top of key accountancy dates and access a number of useful tax calculators.”
